***SUMMER SOCIAL – We have, unfortunately, decided to cancel the Summer Social this year. We are however still going to run the potato competition, weighing the potatoes yourself, as we informed you in our last email. If you were unable to collect a potato to grow yourself Bob and Racheal grew an extra 5 just in case. If anyone wants to take part for fun they can collect a potato from us. Please email bobwatmore@hotmail.com to arrange safe collection. It will be on a first come first served basis. We hope you are all well and hope to see you all soon. all the best from The Derwent Diggers Committee***

***Due to Coronavirus please check to make sure events are on before attending. We will update Facebook and Twitter and also the 2020-21 Events page on this website. There are instructions if you would like to safely collect a potato under the Potato Competition Tab. Keep safe everyone.***

The Derwent Diggers Gardening Club is a social gardening club based in Malton and Norton-on- Derwent (North Yorkshire) and including the surrounding area.

The first meeting was held in February 2004, since then we have met once a month, usually on the first Monday of the month.

In the summer months we organise visits to gardens of interest to members. The programme is devised with the members interests in mind and includes invited speakers, demonstrations and quizzes.

Our meetings are held at Norton Trinity Methodist Church (car park in Plum Street, off Commercial Street, Norton), or at the visit locations as advertised in our programme.

The talks start at 7.30 prompt but we welcome guests and members from about 7pm to chat and get settled. We are usually all finished by about 9pm.
